World Tour 2018: Bookstores & Libraries, Germany & Belgium!

Recently, I've been able to live out my history teacher dreams by visiting medieval cities, castles, and World War I sites! This weekend, I got to visit Ypres and Bruges in Belgium, and was blown away by these beautiful cities!

One of the things I like to do is walk into bookstores and libraries, to check out their English book selection, drool over the international paperback covers, and marvel at the welcoming environment. The picture you see here is actually from the kids' section of a library in Bavaria. There's a wooden tree-like structure in the middle, and two different sections for groups of kids to sit and be read to. In the back you see a semi-circle seating area, and at the bottom of the picture you see red cushions in a bleacher-style seating arrangement. So cute!

Pictured above are a few of the books I picked up from one of the local bookstores. I absolutely love the compact & lightweight nature of the international editions! Perfect for traveling! I'm currently 1/3 of the way into LESS - I picked it up purely for its status as a Pulitzer Prize winner, having no idea what it was about. It's a great book for a traveler, though, because the main character also travels throughout the world!

The pictures below have nothing to do with books, but I thought you'd be interested in seeing a couple of pictures from beautiful Bruges!
